Sacro

SACRO FINAL
SYNOPSIS
Bone. Structure. Sacred. *Sacro* represents the deepest layer of research by choreographer and visual artist Marcio Cunha. He ventures to make the invisible palpable, using intuition as a creative tool—not only during the process itself but also in the relationships between the performing artists on stage. "To create *Sacro*, we held a retreat at the Reserva Mãe do Ouro sanctuary, utilized virtual rehearsal technology, and studied energy bodies and meridians. We combined all of this with the muscle memory of artists connecting to other artists, other pieces, other forms of nature, and other times. We reconnected with the idea of *being*—simply being. To achieve this, we had to empty ourselves, stop 'doing,' and listen to the body in connection with our inner repository of memories." *SACRO* is a performance study featuring whole, mature, and powerful dance artists. An exercise in freedom. A performance ritual defined by the territory of the artists' sensitive listening and the strategies for how their bodies coexist on stage.
